Recently on the PS3 (not entirely sure if it's the same on the 360) I've noticed an upsurge in pathetically pointless chainmail messages that go something like this;

"Send this message to 20 people on your friends list & you will recieve $20 to use for the Playstation Store. Sony are doing this to test the messaging system."

Yeah right... I've also had rubbish like this;

"Send this to 30 people and you will recieve a free copy of Modern Warfare 2."

But the next one really took the biscuit;

"Call of Duty WaW are releasing a gun pack which includes new weapons for mp & zombies. Send this to your friends list and you will recieve a code to get this pack for free"

Is there something I'm missing here? Do people not seem to realise that you won't get $20 or a free copy of Modern Warfare 2 just for sending a message to several people? Yes, I'm asking you guys because I have infact recieved some of these very messages from people on this forum. I never got any of this stuff before so why has it been happening so much recently?

its because ps3 got that update so u can copy messages so i guess some people desided to take advantage of the update

that was done a while ago on xbox but it said to send it to 50 ppl

true but thats when it first started idk why there so many right now though

on xbox there was one saying

'(microsoft points symbol)800
POST THIS TO 8 friends to get 800 points'

i mean come on who is going to beleive this i thought. second later im recieving dozens of copy's form different people, people these days...

Chainmail has always been aload of crap. I think everyone has got a message/email whatever that says something along the lines of; "Little Timmy was murdered when he was six, now if you don't send this to 500000 in the next 12 seconds little Timmy will come and kill you at precisely 12am tonight!" I just can't comprehend anyone believing any of this stuff...

There hasnt been one lately or the PS3 but im sure one will pop up

The last one i saw on PS3 was around halloween saying something about you getting a new zombie map if you sent it to 20 people by 31st October.
Funny thing was people still kept sending it in November. Just shows that people don't actually read these things.

LOL, the exact same thing happened to me!


But the newest one I got, a couple days ago, was that some dumbshizz sent a Chain Message saying
" Community Managar for Infinty Ward Roburt Bowling has just announced that Moderfn Warfare 2 will only be released for Xboxs 369. To show Infinty Ward that we want Modern Warfare 2, put you clan tag as [MW2!] on World At War today to show the develpors. Send to 50 people and you will be able to get a copy of Modern Warfare 2"





It was the BIGGEST Epic Fail I have ever seen in my life.

For every chain letter that is sent to me I say "BS (then I'll state why)", after that they stop sending me those stupid messages.

Dude... little timmy killed my friend....lol jk.... obviously

The chainmail has been insane on the ps3... and what's worse, several people FROM THIS FORUM who should know better forward this crap to me.... wtf lol

i love it when people you just played with do it on Xbox with messages such as " this is to all friends and recent players I just drank Pickle juice...." ect been getting alot of thease lately and there kinda random and well entertaining... at least to me it proves people have no life's

Ever since the new ps3 update there has been copy and paste. I think sony should give an option to block mail that has been copied and pasted.

Luckily i dont have that problem (I've got a pretty small friends list). I think that people figure that they dont have anything to lose so why not try it maybe they think they will get lucky for once
