Carbon, I want to give you some feedback. I really dont think you need more colours...less would be better. Latest or current posts would be better moved to the bottom of screen still allowing easy access but removing them from the sidelines.
Reduce the allowable size of avatars and signitures, because as it stands now many pages on your forum feature more about the user posting than what they have to say. The emphasis should be placed on what people have to say rather than who they are.
I view the internet as an information exchange, a well laid out site acts as an aid to this IE.
Please dont for one minute think I do not appreciate your efforts, I do. As it stands at the mo, when I view your site it seems cluttered. I constantly find my eyes wandering around the page, the first place my eyes fall should be to the body of content and not the avatars or sigs.
If I could ask only one thing of you it would be to move the latest posts to the bottom of the forum.

Reason......in the Western world we read left to right. At the mo I constantly find my eyes twitching to the sidelines even though I know there is nothing I want to read there.

Hope I have been constructive and do ot come across as overly critical, again I truely appreciate your efforts.

There is not much I can do about people signatures except remove them totally so no one has them. As for avatar size it its only a 150 width. If someone manages to get a larger one then I usually change it for them.


As for the recent topics they either stay on the left, move to the right, or are removed completely. There is no chance of them being put on the bottom.

Ok for the time being I have moved the recent topics section to the homepage. What do you guys and girls think about that?

edit- it actualy makes reading the posts ALOT easier. no need to scroll back and forward. and instead of pressing 'forum', you just press 'home page' to have a look at new posts. simple.

Props for taking the time to reply and explain what you can and cannot do, I guess when it comes to sigs Homicidal_llama2 has a good example of when a sig can become destructive. Is it possible to impose a height restriction pixel wise??

I have been going through and changing some peoples sigs, done 3 people so far, just PM me anyone who has an obnoxious or large sigs and I will change it for them.

You didnt have to changed couquis, right? I actually pm'ed him twice, once he changed it, then it was too big again. He changed it back, and seems like a cool guy. just kepp an eye on him, you may need to put his images through a resizer for him. I think he had to totally remove some good images because they were too big. maybe you could help him with getting those resized?
just a suggestion.

I don't remove anyone's images, I might move them and re size them, but that is all.

Lol sorry bud if I had noticed you were Welsh I would have found another example. CYMRU FTW. Yours was the first I came across so just joss. Yes it is a fine image, use of the word destructive was only meant in the sence that it stopped the flow of text.
If several posters in a row reply to a topic with that size sig it can be distracting and take up page space. In bad cases it could make a 3 page topic 5 pages gauranteeing someone would post without having read the middle 3 pages. Leading to an AWOL topic.

Just realised I have spent to much time on CODHQ and allways expect the worst to happen

All in all, I should have used the word distracting and not destructive, you guys are seriously lucky you have the option for sigs. Depending on where Carbon takes this site in the future he might not be able to allways afford you that luxory. That would probably boil down to membership no# versus availible moderators. This site has potentiol to grow into something larger, so enjoy it now while its grass roots and homely.

Ha, ha, thats alright. I can always take things the wrong way on forums because you can't really judge the tone of what someone is saying from lines of text. I have to say I agree with you though. Before now whole threads have been stretched because of someones gigantic sig.

Ahahahaa, I do find it rather amusing that we're on a gaming forum and there are loads of pictures of half naked scene girls. Look at it this way though, at least the Boxxy phase appears to have ended!
