Another leak by Xbox.com, this time revealing the names and a short description of the Stimulus Package maps.
After many months of waiting and various rumours circulating around the internet, it seems that we may now have the information we've been waiting for. A leak on the official Xbox site has revealed the names and descriptions of each map within the Map Pack.
Stimulus Package
The first Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack, titled the "Stimulus Package", will be released 30th March on Xbox 360 and will then eventually arrive on PS3 and PC
30 days later. The Map Pack will include 3 brand new multiplayer maps as well as 2 fan-favorites from Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare.
"Bailout", a multi-level apartment complex;
"Storm", an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery;
"Salvage", a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars;
"Crash", a war-torn urban environment;
"Overgrown", which features a massive dry creek bed.
So it seems that the infamous leaked video » that has made the rounds on the internet is indeed legit. It also appears that the maps titled Complex has changed to Bailout, and Compact has been changed to Salvage.
We also expect the "Stimulus Package" to feature new challenges and callsigns for you to unlock, as suggested by Infinity Ward Community Manager, @fourzerotwo », after a lead meeting in January.
A "reliable-source" has informed our friends over at WePlayCoD » that the Map Pack will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, however this is not yet official.
@fourzerotwo » has hinted that Double XP will be switched on during the Map Pack launch. You will also be able to dress up for the occassion, as a variety of new content » will hit Xbox LIVE during the launch week, including avatar items, a premium theme and gamerpics. There will also be a gamerpic pack dedicated to the moustache maestro himself - Captain Price!
This will be awesome.
