The new site is coming along nicely, we are currently working on the main homepage, some of the features that have been added so far are...

• Homepage (for the main site)
  
• Phpbb3 forum embedded in the site
  
• Chat embedded in the site
  
• Der Riese menu with links to info on different things
  
• And more!

Hopefully by the beginning of April we will open the site to the public. It could be sooner depending on how satisfied we are with a basic setup/layout for the homepage. Once we open it to everyone, we will continue to add things and improve the site.

So then maybe keep this forum as a backup for some time, let people transfer over their posts. At least some of the good ones.

Yup, that's exactly what we have planned.

Yes angry sun, this forum will never die, but it will remain live for some time so good threads can be transferred, then I will close it down, well it will still be around, but admin access only so if I need to get something I can but it will keep people on the new site.

I'm a bit uneasy about the idea of 'new everything' considering this forum is pretty dead at the moment there won't be anything new to post so a brand new forum would look even more dead. Just my opinion though, I'm sure the new forum will look great

who cares if the forum looks dead, as soon as any info is released people will come. I am not worried and a little sad you are so pessimistic about it.

I was just stating my concerns. Personally I think the forum is in need of a revamp. The only thing I was worried about is old threads vanishing making the forum look unused. The new design looks awesome. I'm just a pessimistic person who always looks at the negatives which can be a good thing because then I'm never disappointed .

well i disabled the basket feature so post will NEVER disappear, unlike what I did here when it was crowded. So be sure to flip through the graveyard here to find the good ones to re post, and if you do be sure to credit the original author.
