| THough this may have nothing to do with an additional Zombie Map, it does not look good if they are already working on COD7. Through a listing on his LinkedIn profile, Treyarch senior animator David Kim has accidentally announced that production of Call of Duty 7 has already begun. “I am currently on my second title as a senior animator in the games industry with Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7,” reads Kim’s profile on the networking site. Following Activision’s trend to give its major franchises annual releases, you can expect Call of Duty 7 to come out in 2010. Infinity Ward and Treyarch have been alternating CoD releases the past few years, so it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to hear the next installment will be worked on by Treyarch. Along those same lines, recent rumors have hinted at Call of Duty 7 being set during the Vietnam War era, a very controversial issue that hasn’t been touched by many game developers/publishers. Activision has supposedly been looking to license music from the Vietnam War ear, as well as Cuban, African, and Soviet Union music. This hasn’t been confirmed by Activision nor Treyarch, as of yet. It might be a little too soon to be talking about CoD7, seeing that we don’t even have much info on the sixth installment, but I guess it’s all good. Edit - here is the link for this http://www.ripten.com/2009/05/13/treyarch-already-working-on-call-of-duty-7/

| This is good! A CoD game designed by Treyarch thats not based in WWII! Not to say that its a bad era to be set in but, its getting kind of old.. Having the game set in Vietnam could lead to an interesting story line and its not too current so politics will not get involved! |

| Yeah I heard about this, also heard that there is accidental leaked audio from the Vietnam era. So Vietnam, (possible next CoD???) Didn't see the post saying Vietnam would be a great place for the game. So yeah, I think almost everyone is leaning towards Vietnam as the next game, so Cod: Vietnam could very well be the next CoD |

| I think COD Vietnam could be part of the rumor mill but I would hope not. I think it would be nice to have a game built around the Vietnam War. |

| I don't think COD7 will be ONLY in Vietnam. Treyarch has recently licensed Cuban, Russian and African music spanning from the 1960s to 1980s. I think you will see several different stories within the game (including Vietnam) that span the globe and a few decades. I think you will be playing through all the Soviet/U.S. proxy "brushfire" wars. Expect Greece, Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Cuba... maybe even Israel vs Egypt and the Iranian revolution. And as far as Vietnam not fitting in the Call of Duty series, I disagree. There was all kinds of fighting in all kinds of terrains and envirnoments during the Vietnam conflict. There were naval engagements, urban warfare, air battles, armor engagements, artillery bombardments and full scale "traditional battles" involving very conventional forces. The problem is, the movies usually only show the "sloshing through the jungle in a small unit waiting to be ambushed" aspect of Vietnam. And if there isn't at least 5 zombie map packs or a full blown zombie game by the time cod7 comes out, I will have already moved on to something else. |

| I'm actually pretty bored and burned out RIGHT NOW. Let's see... Modern Warfare 5 weeks from now, Avatar and Gran Turismo 5 in December, Dante's Inferno in February, Bioshock 2 and God of War 3 in March... so I'm looking at 6 AAA game purchases in the next 6 months. That's about $360. Treyarch can choose to keep the momentum and my money, or not. Either way, it will be a good 6 months for gaming =) The United States did not lose Vietnam, although it may feel like it. The goal in Vietnam was to destroy the country in a way that it would never be able to provide a viable model for communism in the region. That was successful. There is more to war than the chess "check mate" aspect of it. There are all kinds of geopolitical goals at play. Right now Vietnam is a devastated peasant society that is still feeling the horrific affects of war. This sent and sends a clear message to the region that it is best to simply accept and bend to the economic will of the U.S.. How many communist countries are there in SE Asia? 0. Which was the goal of the Vietnam war. |

ww2 theme is very boring, it's old and nothing cool about it. vietnam would be thinking a little bit more out side the box but i don't think they would make a game that really they did not win. |

The only problem with the Vietnam War, that TreyArch will have an issue with, is that the United States did not win Vietnam. Hence, it will make it ALOT more difficult to pull off the ending or conclusion sequence. In the previous games, they could because we did win World War II, but Vietnam is a different story. |

| well vietnam game would be good, not so controversial as you may think though as, Bungie made a custom map for a halo 3 called 'Vietnam' they said it was to 'commemorate all those who died fighting' |

Why wouldn't you think this? If anything Treyarch would have balls to make a game about a war we didn't even win. It would make it alot more interesting and maybe even educate people a little. That said, I would much prefer Treyarch's next COD related to game to be Zombies based |
