Seems to me this is directed at Edward from the Illuminati telling him that he must observe maxis and report back to them. Maxis must be just a regular scientist and the powers behind Edward want him to keep an eye on him. Also on Der Riese there is a note in the Illuminati writing that reads "Edward Its Time Kill Maxis". The way I see this it is read (Edward, It's time. Kill Maxis.) This must have been sent from the Illuminati as directions for Edward to eliminate Maxis after he has done his work. This is heard in one of the radios where Edward shuts the door on Maxis and his daughter.

Was as strwrsbob said - was a whole war between science and religion. Illuminati were famous for infiltration, having secret members within masons, ie. FDR is rumoured to be illuminati and this would explain the secrecy of Edward and the telegrams to him.

for a quick off topic, acutally, no one knows where the church of illumiation is. dan brown wrote angels and demon, which is fiction, using real groups. read the back of the book, he says tha himself. rmember the da vinci code? false. dan brown uses history for fiction books. no one knows if the illuminati church is under the vatican. only in the book does it say that.
