Sorry I'm late Sarge! Damn hellhound took a bite out of my leg. I'm bleeding fast, but some Quick-Revive in the mess should patch me up. New info, curdacy of electricpig.co.uk:

Call of Duty Vietnam has been rumoured for a while now with tales of Activision licensing a suitable ‘60s soundtrack and a job ad for a Call of Duty designer with the right historical perspective. Now Call of Duty Vietnam looks even more likely thanks to yet another ad. This time it’s for vocal talent.

A recent casting call for Call Of Duty voice over and motion capture work referred to a character called Frank Barnes. And guess what? He’s described as a member of an elite Vietnam War military unit.

The Call of Duty casting call describes Barnes as “a fiercely patriotic veteran of WW2…a solid leader possessed with an excellent ability to assess and respond to any situation quickly and decisively.”

It looks likely that Call of Duty Vietnam will feature the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies And Observations Group, a real-life US military unit which went behind enemy lines to conduct covert operations including the capture of enemy soldiers and the retrieval of US prisoners.

The Call of Duty Vietnam casting call also describes other members of the unit: Joseph Lewis, “a very physically fit” black guy in his 20s; Jason Hudson, “an excellent tactician and mission co-ordinator” and Kristina Ivanova, a Russian martial arts expert who is “calm to the point of being cold and detached”.

We’re a little disappointed not to see the guy-who-was-drafted-but-opposes-the-war and the guy-who-hangs-back-patrol-and-is-taken-out-by-a-sniper in there but we’re sure the developers at Treyarch are on it.

Make sure you find out about Call of Duty: World at War with added zombies and read our Modern Warfare 2 review for our view on the latest modern installment of the franchise.
